Who we are

Euro Freight Transport is a community-run virtual trucking company in Euro Truck Simulator 2 / TruckersMP. The website is hosted on Simply.com in Denmark. We are the data controller for everything described below.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the site:

  • If you apply / register: Discord display name + ID, email address, country, age, your TruckersHub URL, your TruckersMP URL, an Avatar URL (from Discord/Google if you sign in with them), and a one-way bcrypt hash of your password.
  • If you sign in with Discord: we receive your Discord ID, username, verified email, and avatar URL via Discord's OAuth API.
  • If you sign in with Google: we receive your Google ID (sub), verified email, name, and profile picture via Google's OAuth API.
  • Every page load: server access logs (handled by Simply.com) keep your IP, request URL, and timestamp for a short period.
  • Login attempts: we log your IP and whether the attempt succeeded for 24 hours, to rate-limit brute-force attacks.
  • Audit log: when an admin takes a sensitive action (approving an application, resetting a password, issuing a punishment), we log who did what to whom and when.
  • Job + event data you create: the deliveries you log, the slot bookings you submit, the events you create, the news posts you write.

What we use it for

  • Run your account (logging in, showing you the right pages, calculating XP and leaderboard rank).
  • Email you about your application (verification code, approval, occasional updates).
  • Email you when an admin reviews a password reset request you submitted.
  • Spot and block brute-force login attempts.
  • Show your username and avatar on the public team page and on the leaderboard, if you're an active member.
  • Hold admins accountable for their actions via the audit log.

What we do NOT do

  • We don't sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone.
  • We don't run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the site (no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no ads).
  • We don't send marketing emails. The only emails you'll get are transactional (verification, approval, password reset).

Who we share with

Only as much as needed to run the site:

  • Simply.com — our hosting provider in Denmark, processes everything that touches the server. Their privacy policy: simply.com/dk/privatlivspolitik.
  • Discord (Inc.) — when you click "Sign in with Discord", Discord sees the request. We then fetch your profile.
  • Google (LLC) — same as above for "Sign in with Google".
  • Discord webhooks — if an admin pushes an event embed to a Discord channel, the event details (name, route, time, etc.) get posted there. No personal user data.
  • TruckersHub.in / TrucksBook / TruckersMP — if/when we wire up automatic job sync, we'll send your TruckersHub user ID to those services to fetch your stats. No other personal data leaves us.

Cookies

We use exactly one cookie: eft_sid. It stores a randomly-generated session ID, lives only until you close your browser, is HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite=Lax, and is strictly necessary for you to be logged in. No third-party cookies. No tracking cookies. No banner needed under GDPR.

How long we keep it

  • Active accounts: as long as you're a member.
  • Login attempts: 24 hours, then auto-deleted by a cron job.
  • Email-pending applications: 14 days, then auto-rejected and the row is kept for an audit trail (you can ask for full deletion).
  • Password reset requests: 7 days, then auto-rejected.
  • Audit log: indefinitely (it's the accountability layer for admin actions).

Your rights (GDPR)

If you're in the EU/EEA — and even if you're not, we apply the same rules — you can:

  • Access your data: ask us for a copy of everything we have on you.
  • Rectify wrong information: edit your profile in the hub, or ask an admin if you can't.
  • Erase your account: ask us to delete your account and we will (within 30 days). Some audit-log entries may stay anonymised.
  • Export your data: ask for a JSON dump of your account, applications, jobs, and bookings.
  • Object or restrict processing: tell us and we'll discuss what we can disable.
  • Complain to a supervisory authority — in Denmark, that's Datatilsynet.

To exercise any of these, email contact@eurofreightransport.com from the address on file. We'll reply within 30 days.

Children

We require members to be at least 14 years old. If you believe a child under 14 has registered, contact us and we'll delete the account.

Changes

We'll update this page when our processing changes. The "last updated" date will move. Material changes will be announced in our Discord.
